I thought it appropriate to begin this blogging journey by explaining what it means to me to Live and Leave Legacies of Love.
A legacy is something that you leave someone else, kind of like an inheritance, but not necessarily property or money. A legacy is anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor. This could be good or bad....positive or negative.
We all have been affected by negative, even hurtful things from our past that has caused us to respond and behave in ways that hurt others. Sometimes they way we have treated others, especially our own family, has been because we were just immature. But, there is hope if you truly want to change and make a difference in the lives of the people around you that you love the most.
The Bible says in I Peter 4:8, "...continue to show deep love for each other, for love makes up for many of your faults". Another translation says, "because love makes you willing to forgive many sins". So, you see, love can cover your faults and cause you to forgive others faults. It'a a win - win!!
Why don't we all determine that we are going to love, even when it's hard or the other person is "unlovely". It can change us... and possibly change them.
I want my legacy to be that I "do justly (rightly), love mercy and kindness, and walk humbly with my God". (Micah 6:8)
